Dream Works Pictures

DreamWorks Studios is a motion picture company formed by partners Steven Spielberg, Stacey Snider and The Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group. The studio currently has a worldwide distribution deal with The Walt Disney Studios, who will market and distribute their films.

Distribution company

      I chose Trinity Films as my distribution company because during my research I found that they have distributed many films with a horror genre so I decided it would be perfect for my film.
     Trinity has established itself a dynamic, highly ‘All Rights’ film distribution and production company. It is based in London, it has earned an enviable reputation for releasing fresh, challenging and unique feature films from around the world.
     Films such as Red, White and Blue  are of a similar genre to my film and this is one of Trinity’s biggest distributions.

Choosing the name of the film

     When it came to choosing the name of our film, it took us a great deal of thought. We first thought of calling our film 'The Run' because the film starts off with the two girls running and then they find the mysterious body. However, we decided to change it because 'The Run' does not sound like a thriller movie. It had to have more power in the name, and something that would definitely resemble a thriller so when people heard the name they would know which genre it was going to be.
     So then we decided to research a few thriller film names and this is where we came up with the name 'Devils Own Luck'. We decided to stick with this name because when the two girls find the mysterious body, throughout the rest of the film they are cursed with bad luck and they end up coming face to face with the Devil himself.
     This name is definitely more related to our film without giving away too much detail. This name is more relevant to our film and catches the public's attention to want to go and watch it.

re-editing

In February, we reshot our film. This time we made a fewmajor improvements, including making sure our sound was working. We also changed the location of our film. 
     After we had made these improvements, we then created the music and completed all our editing. After this, we had a double check over what we had created and decided we still needed to make some major improvements. 
     These improvements included: 

• Changing the name of our film to make it sound more like a thriller.
• Changing the pace of some of our titles so they fit in more with what's going on in the sequence. 
• Changing the volume of the music so it would be level with the dialogue used in some of the sequence.
• Changing the whole music piece because when we finally fit it in with the sequence it didn't sound as scary and convincing as we had hoped. 
• By changing the music we added more strings and deeper music, we edited out some of our shots to make it more scary, for example, we cut out more shots of the body on the ground because when you see fewer shots it makes it seem more tense.  

Risk Assessment

When we were filming our opening, we had to tackle of a few risk assessments before we were able to go ahead with the filming.

• Before we started filming, we had to make sure the camera was set up properly. This meant that it was attached safely and properly to the tripod and that the microphone was attached to the microphone tripod correctly. 
• We had to ensure the microphone was switched on and that the battery was in properly (as the microphone was a major issue the first time we filmed).
• Whilst we were filming i made sure i was not disrupting any of the public and not getting in there way.
• We made sure that all of the actors (myself and two other people) were safe and that the acting we were doing was not harmful in anyway towards, the public or the environment surrounding us.
• We had to make that the camera and microphone had our full awareness and that they did not get lost, damaged or stolen.
• We had to make sure the tripod was in an upright position securely on the ground and was not obstructing the public in any way.
• Also, because we were in a public park, we had to be aware of dogs incase they got too near to the camera.

The order of our titles

Throughout our planning of the film, we had to research production companies and distribution companies.

We also researched real people who are involved in the film industry to make our titles look more realistic. One of my friends and I were the actors in the film, and my partner was the camera woman. My partner and I both directed the film.
